Red Cherry Shrimp are small, peaceful, freshwater aquarium crustaceans, known for their vibrant red color and easy care. They originate from Taiwan and are a selectively bred color morph of the wild Neocaridina davidi species. These dwarf shrimp grow to about 1-1.5 inches (2.5-4 cm), with females being larger and more intensely colored than males. They are excellent scavengers, excellent at cleaning algae and biofilm, and their bright red color makes them a popular and decorative choice for planted and community tanks.

Breeding & Sex Differences

Sex Differences:Females are generally larger and more vividly colored than males.
Moulting:They shed their exoskeleton, or carapace, as they grow, a process called moulting, after which they seek a safe, hidden spot to allow their new shell to harden.
