- Classic Stonefly Dry Fly Pattern The Long Tail Skwala (often called Squalla Stone) is a proven imitation of the large Skwala stoneflies that hatch in early spring; this extended-body style has been a favorite among western trout anglers for decades, especially on rivers where big stoneflies bring aggressive surface feeding
- Accurate Skwala Stonefly Imitation Designed to match adult Skwala stoneflies with a realistic elongated body, prominent tails, and natural wing silhouette; the long tail helps imitate the way these large insects drift and flutter on the water during March through May hatches
- Versatile for Early Season Fishing Effective on freestone rivers, tailwaters, and mountain streams when Skwala stoneflies are active; productive for brown, rainbow, and cutthroat trout during the early spring stonefly hatch when trout are eager to feed on the surface
