- Classic Stonefly Dry Fly Pattern — The Long Tail Skwala (often called Squalla Stone) is a proven imitation of the large Skwala stoneflies that hatch in early spring; this extended-body style has been a favorite among western trout anglers for decades, especially on rivers where big stoneflies bring aggressive surface feeding
- Accurate Skwala Stonefly Imitation — Designed to match adult Skwala stoneflies with a realistic elongated body, prominent tails, and natural wing silhouette; the long tail helps imitate the way these large insects drift and flutter on the water during March through May hatches
- Premium High-Floating Construction — Hand-tied with quality foam or extended-body materials for excellent buoyancy, paired with stiff hackle and a durable wing for a realistic profile that floats high even in choppy water and after multiple fish
- Versatile for Early Season Fishing — Effective on freestone rivers, tailwaters, and mountain streams when Skwala stoneflies are active; productive for brown, rainbow, and cutthroat trout during the early spring stonefly hatch when trout are eager to feed on the surface
- Practical Addition to Your Dry Fly Box — A reliable large dry fly for early-season action; the long-tail design stands out on the water while providing a natural drift, making it a useful pattern for searching or matching the hatch in western and other stonefly-rich waters.
